Pickups signal recording for reamping possibility:
DI-box -> microphone preamp -> sound card

“Octaver” effect recording (only on several places of tracks 3, 6):
preamp -> processor -> speakersimulator -> microphone preamp -> sound card

Piezo-pickup signal recording (on tracks 4, 5, 9):
guitar -> microphone preamp line input -> sound card

Rhythm parts on tracks 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 – MusicMan John Petrucci (both channels)

Keyboards Recording Equipment

KORG X50 and KORG X5D synthesizers were used to record all keyboard parts. They were directly connected to sound card.

Vocals Recording Equipment

All vocal parts were recorded using AKG C4000 microphone.

8. ZOOM B1 processor (used as tuner only)

Bass recording main chain:
bass -> DI-box -> preamp -> poweramp -> cabinet -> microphones -> microphone preamps -> sound card

Sound of bass on the recording is the mix of DI-box and microphones signals.
